the weakling
who can
topple
those immense barriers
of distrust and
fear
we have thrown up;
the softie
who can gather
up our tangled
lives
to weave a soft
comforter,
to wrap us in
hope's warmth
against pain's bitter
winter;
the innocent
who sings soft
lullabies,
counterpoints
to the raging cries
of loss
and doubt;
look! the
Lamb,
who takes us
just as we are.
